Quick IntroductionThe purpose of our chemistry is to develop and understand metal-catalyzed reactions in organic chemistry. This is pursued in combination with mechanistic investigations as this may lead to an improvement of the properties of the catalytic system. The attention is focused on design and preparation of the chiral catalysts which both catalyze the reaction and are responsible for the transmission of chiral information in the conversion of achiral substrates into optically active products. The focus of our research is on preparative work, but to fulfill the scientific goals, we are also applying with physical-, spectroscopic- and computational chemistry. The GroupThe research group is at present about 20 persons, consisting of mainly post-docs and Ph.D. students. We are always looking for chemist interested in joining the group, and applications are welcome. At present we are also interested in people with a computational chemistry experience, as we want to strengthen this part of our work. Lab FacilitiesThe group has modern laboratories with all the necessary equipment. Furthermore, we have our own NMR 300 (will be improved and upgraded in near future), GC (achiral and chiral), GC-MS (achiral and chiral), 2xHPLC, computational systems etc. Furthermore, the department is well equipped with both X-ray facilities (SIEMENS-SMART), NMR etc. The labs and equipment can be seen at the Lab Facilities page.
